Gallery Crawl returns to downtown Friday evening

Everything Has a Story features art by artists from eight years old to 93 years old.

The Ashe County Arts Council will again sponsor Gallery Crawl from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9. Crawlers are invited to stroll the streets, visit the galleries, view the downtown murals and take advantage of the downtown restaurants.

Eighteen galleries will be open after hours to showcase the latest artwork of local and regional artists.

For the August Gallery Crawl, the Ashe Arts Center will present a new exhibit by the Ashe Camera Club in the gallery.

ACC exhibit will feature local photographers both regular and new club members.

The opening reception will be held from 5 to 8 p.m.

Everything Has a Story will be featuring Suzanne Zielaskowski, Barn Quilt artisan along with special promotional pricing for any orders placed during the crawl.

The gallery features more than 120 individuals from eight years old to 93 years old. For the Crawl, the gallery will also be serving non-alcoholic moonshine and host a tasting of Traffic, Toe and Frog Jam on fresh biscuits.

Acorn Gallery will be featuring oils by Marcelo Lopez, a Brazilian artist who depicts works from the Brazilian rain forest and Sao Paulo. Raney Rogers will feature new unframed watercolors as well.

The newest gallery added to the Gallery Crawl is The Vintage Locket located at 9 East Main Street.
