Polar plunge, disc golf tourney benefit event planned

The sixth annual High Country Ice Bowl and Polar Plunge, which benefits DSS Energy Assistance for the Aging, is accepting registration forms.
Forms, liability waiver and donations are due to the Ashe County Parks and Recreation Department by Feb. 18. The mailing address is 626 Ashe Central School Road, Unit 16, Jefferson, NC 28640. More information is available by calling (336) 982-6185 or emailing dustyfarmer@ashecountygov.com.
The event is scheduled for Feb. 18, regardless of weather conditions. Participants will get one Ice Bowl INNOVA disc, INNOVA mini, Ace Pool entry, a hot lunch and a ticket for a big door prize drawing.
The polar plunge and the disc golf tournament will take place at the lake at Ashe County Park.
