Homeschooled children in the area will get the opportunity to put their knowledge to work in an upcoming science fair.
On Tuesday, April 17, a Homeschool Science Fair will be held at Bald Mountain Baptist Church in West Jefferson. Project set up time will be from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Interaction with judges is from 11:30 a.m. until noon with an awards presentation set for 1 p.m.
Interested students should register as soon as possible. Registration deadline is Tuesday, March 20, and registration can be done at Ashe Schools of Home Education on Tuesdays or by emailing (rangervicki@hotmail.com)
The fair will be held to offer a chance at N.C. Science Festival participation. The cost is $3 per student registration and $6 maximum per family.
Students who participate should keep a journal of the steps they used with their projects. The judges will read them to see how each participant reached their conclusion.
