UNC Greensboro academic honors announced

P. Brady has announced the names of Ashe County students who attained deans'
list and chancellor's list honors at UNC Greensboro during the fall 2011
semester.
Ashley Bower of Crumpler, Caroline Ashley and Jessica Poe, both of Jefferson,
and Morgan Lawrence and Ory Owen, both of West Jefferson, were named to the
dean's list.
Bower and Ashley were also named to the chancellor's list. Ashley will be inducted into the National Society of Leadership and Success, Sigma Alpha Pi.
Sigma Alpha Pi is a leadership honor society available to select students on campus. Ashley received the honor due to her academic accomplishment and leadership potential.
To make the dean's list, students carrying at least six hours of course work must earn an academic grade-point average of 3.5 or higher, with no grade lower than a B-minus. Students are eligible after they have completed 15 hours of coursework.
To make the chancellor's list, full-time undergraduates must have cumulative grade point averages of at least 3.65 of a possible 4.0. To be eligible, students must be enrolled in at least 12 semester hours of course work. They also must have completed 30 hours of coursework.
