Rabies clinics begin in county

North Carolina law requires all dogs and cats three months of age and older to be vaccinated every three years for rabies after two yearly vaccinations have been given.

The Ashe Animal Clinic will hold a rabies clinic in areas throughout Ashe County, beginning Friday, May 3.

The cost is $7 per animal during this clinic.

The schedule is as follows:

Friday, May 3

– 4:30 to 4:45 p.m. at 221 Grocery in Deep Gap.

– 5 to 5:15 p.m. at Fleetwood River Road on Highway 221.

– 5:30 to 5:45 p.m. at Herbert’s Grocery in Baldwin.

Monday, May 6

– 4:30 to 4:45 p.m. at Big Laurel Road at Highway 88 West.

– 5 to 5:15 p.m. at Clifton Grocery at Clifton.

– 5:45 to 6 p.m. at Warrensville Post Office.

Tuesday, May 7

– 4:30 to 4:45 p.m. at Helton Community Center.

– 5 to 5:15 p.m. at Lansing Fire Department.

– 5:45 to 6 p.m. at Oak Hill Church on Deep Ford Road.

Wednesday, May 8

– 4:30 to 4:45 p.m. at New River Fire Department.

– 5 to 5:15 p.m. at New River Store in Scottsville.

– 5:30 to 5:45 p.m. at Nathans Creek General Store.

Thursday, May 9

– 4:30 to 4:45 p.m. at Peak Creek Ruritan Building in Laurel Springs.

– 5:15 to 5:30 p.m. at Glendale Springs Fire Department.

– 5:45 to 6 p.m. at 163 Station at Ashe Lake Road.

– 6:15 to 6:30 p.m. at Noblett’s Store in Beaver Creek.

Friday, May 10

– 4:30 to 4:45 p.m. at Milam’s Store on Three Top Road in Creston.

– 5 to 5:15 p.m. at Knox Knitting Mill in Creston.

– 5:45 to 6 p.m. at Stevens Store in Sutherland.
