West Jefferson Holiday Parade scheduled for Nov. 16
Last modified: Oct. 24
“Interested groups are encouraged to get floats together and come have fun downtown West Jefferson,” West Jefferson Lion’s Club Chairman Pete Yates said Monday.
Sponsored by Parker Tie Company, funded in part by the Town of West Jefferson and coordinated by the West Jefferson Lion’s Club, the theme for this year’s parade is “Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow.”
The Ashe County High School Husky Vanguard Band has been invited to perform along the parade route, and other local groups are also invited to sing or dance to holiday renditions along the parade route.
“As in the past, we hope many civic clubs, dance teams, churches, fire and rescue departments, and horse owners will be participating in the parade,” Holiday Parade Volunteer Gwynita Steele.
Entry forms are available now at the Ashe County Chamber of Commerce, West Jefferson Town Hall, and Parker Tie Company. As always, prizes will be awarded in several categories including Best Commercial entry, Best Church or Religious entry, Best Children’s or Youth entry, and Best Community or Civic entry.
The nearly 65-year-old West Jefferson Lions Club helps individuals in need of eye care, helping hundreds of people annually.
