Ashe County High's state-ranked boys basketball team takes on host Wilkes Central in Friday night's Mountain Valley Conference Tournament championship.
The Eagles fended off a Starmount rally, 70-62, in Thursday's semifinals. Ashe, which swept the home-and-home regular season matchups, defeated Alleghany in Wednesday's semifinals to earn its spot.
The girls championship between Wilkes Central and East Wilkes tips at 6:30, with the Ashe and Wilkes Central boys to follow.
