An instructional basketball league is tentatively set to
begin on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Westwood Elementary School.
The Wee Wolves Basketball program is open to all kindergarten and first and
second grade boys and girls. The cost will be $45 per player and all fees will
be used to pay for league expenses, equipment, shirts and trophies.
According to league organizer, Kevin Miller, the purpose of the league is to
have fun, teach the fundamentals of basketball, build self-esteem and
confidence, teach good sportsmanship and fair play and to make new friends.
The league will not keep score during the games.
Practice and game times are currently set for 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and 1 p.m. on
Sundays. Registration may be done on the first day of practice and forms are
available at the school. The first practice will be at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Feb.
19.
