Mrs. Doris Miller Lambert, 82, of West Jefferson passed away Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 23, 2012, at Carolina Medical Center Northeast in Concord.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Keith Casey, the Rev. David Lyalls and speaker Justin McNeill officiating. Burial followed in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
The family received friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at Boone Family Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lambert was born in Ashe County, on Feb. 9, 1930, to the late Minter Memphis Miller and Dillie C. Roop. She was known for her good cooking and famous gravy and biscuit. She loved being outside working in flowers and enjoyed jigsaw puzzles. She was a member of Mt. Jefferson Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Bobby Farmer and wife, Rita, of Warrensville; three daughters, Linda Sexton and husband, Ed, of Jefferson, Kathy Deal and companion, Steve Freeze, of Kannapolis, and Carol McNeill and husband, Billy, of West Jefferson; one brother, Earnest Miller of Lansing; two sisters, Ola Vaughan of Eastland, Mich., and Stella Bennett of Lima, Ohio; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
