Mrs. Dorothy Faye Shirey Wilson, 81, of West Jefferson, NC, and formally of Columbia, SC, died on Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. Mrs. Wilson was born on September 23, 1930, in Richland County, SC, to Andrew and Thetus Bland Shirey. Mrs. Wilson was the wife of Berkeley B. Wilson also of Columbia and who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Wilson's hobbies included crocheting, sewing and basket weaving. She used these skills to make items such as bears, pillows, blankets and scarfs to ease and comfort those at the Providence Hospital and continued this type of selfless giving at the assisted living facility she lived in.

Mrs. Wilson is survived by two sons, Michael L. Wilson and wife, Nancy, and Charles A. Baker and wife, Sheryl; one daughter, Donna Faye Baker Thiel and husband, Kevin; one sister, Frances Geraldine Thompson; two step-daughters, V. Capers Johnston and husband, Joe, and Catherine B. Wilson; one step-son, Berkeley B. Wilson Jr. and wife, Barbara; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
