Dosha Blevins Poe Payne

Mrs. Dosha Blevins Poe Payne, 98, of Lansing died on Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at Margate Health & Rehab Center in Jefferson.

Mrs. Payne was born on Sept. 2, 1914, in Grayson County, Va., to the late Elick and Rose Reedy Blevins. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Bill Poe, seven brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Payne retired as a nurses' aide and after retirement, worked at Shatley Springs Restaurant as a biscuit maker.

Funeral services will be held on 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at the Helton Valley Baptist Church by the Rev. Billy Joe Blevins. Burial followed in the Walls Cemetery.

The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at Helton Valley Baptist Church.

Mrs. Payne is survived by son, Roger Poe and wife, Judy, of Lansing; son, Vance Poe and wife, Ethel, of Whitetop, Va.; daughter, Wilma Frazier of Alabama; daughter, Betty Williams of Mouth Of Wilson, Va.; brother, Dentis Blevins of Whitetop, Va.; also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
