Eddie Hershner, born on June 19, 1993, son of Joy Dey of Watauga County and Greg and Jan Hershner, of Ashe County, died unexpectedly on Saturday, June 15, 2013, at Kerr Scott Reservoir in Wilkes County.
At the time of his death, he was doing his favorite thing of all, fishing. He also loved camping, kayaking, hiking, fast cars, tractors, movies, his dogs Fred and Lucy, his family, friends, and His Lord and Savior, Jesus.
Eddie lent a helping hand to anyone he could. He was a 2012 graduate of Ashe County High School and worked for New River Tree Farms and Sturgill Tree Farms.
Along with his parents, survivors also include his siblings, Adam, Alex, and Ali Hershner; grandparents, William and Dorothy Jeremiah of Jefferson, Robert and Marylou Hershner of Marblehead, Ohio; aunts; uncles, and cousins.
A memorial service and life celebration will be held 12 p.m. at Faith Fellowship Church, 676 South Main Street, Jefferson on Saturday, June 22, 2013. Pastor Elliott Osowitt And Evangelist Neal Hatfield will be speaking. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
