Edna Latham Mullis

Edna Leona Latham Mullis, 58, of Creston, died on Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at the Margate Health & Rehab Center in Jefferson. Ms. Mullis was born on May 8, 1954, in Ashe County to Jessie Hugh" Bill" and Hazel Rash Latham.
Ms. Mullis was preceded in death by her father, brother, Jack Latham, and husband, Donald Combs.
Ms. Mullis was full of love. She always had a smile on her face and she loved to make people smile. When her health allowed she enjoyed working in her garden and with her flowers.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2013, at the Ashelawn Memorial Chapel officiated by the Rev. Charles McCoy and the Rev. Ronda Rash. Burial followed in the Roark Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.
Ms. Mullis is survived by daughter, Shannon Miller and husband, Steven, of Creston; mother, Hazel Pauline Latham of Lenoir; sisters, Donna Latham of Lenoir, and Shelia Baker of Vale; brothers, Ivan Latham of Creston, and Larry Latham of Creston; grandchildren, Brooke Eldreth and Austin Miller. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be appreciated, or memorials may be made to the family c/o Shannon and Steven Miller, P.O. Box 373, Jefferson, NC 28640. The family met at the home of her brother, Larry Latham, 1530 Ben Bolen Road in Creston.
