Mrs. Georgia Eldreth Koontz, 98, of Laurel Springs, died on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at her nephews home.

Mrs. Koontz was born on May 28, 1914, in Ashe County to Calvin Wesley and Ennis Lyle Eldreth. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Presley "Pete" Koontz; brothers, Bruce, Luther & John Eldreth; sisters, Ruth Colvard, Opal Miller & Mabel Miller. Mrs. Koontz enjoyed cooking and sewing.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Elder Eddie Lyle. Burial will follow in Senter Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Koontz is survived by one brother, Jack Eldreth of Va.; four sisters, Maxine Sheets & Marie Pennington both of Jefferson, Winola Moore of MD, & Bobbie Fender of S.C.; care givers, Wayne & Julie Eldreth of Laurel Springs, several nieces and nephews.
