Mrs. Gladys Eldreth Welch, 92, of Lansing passed away Sunday evening, Jan. 13, 2013, at Margate Health & Rehab Center.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Long Branch Baptist Church, officated by the Rev. Eddie Lewis and the Rev. Larry Shepherd. Burial will follow in the Eldreth Cemetery in Lansing.

The family will receive friends 1 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.

Mrs. Welch was born in Ashe County on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1920, to the late Avery and Effie Woods Eldreth. She retired from Sprague Electric. She was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church.

She was also preceded in death by two sons; three brothers, Glenn Eldreth, Jones Eldreth and Smith (Hoover) Eldreth.

Mrs. Welch is survived by a sister, Jean Osborne, of Lansing; several nieces and nephews also survive.
