Irene Payne Richardson

Mrs. Irene Payne Richardson, 82, of Jefferson, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at the Margate Health & Rehab Center in Jefferson.

Mrs. Richardson was born on July 27, 1930, in Mountain City, Tenn., to the late Roy Clyde and Hettie Curd Payne. In addition to her parents Mrs. Richardson was preceded in death by her brother, Earl Payne.

Mrs. Richardson was a member of Sugar Tree Baptist Church. She retired from Sprague after many years of service.

Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jim Greer and the Rev. Homer Vanover. Entombment followed in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum of Prayer. The family received friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.

Mrs. Richardson is survived by her husband, Breece Richardson; one daughter, Sandy Long and husband, Tim, of Jefferson; one granddaughter, Emily Long; two brothers, Paul Payne and wife, Ima Jean, of Mountain City, Tenn., and Glynn Payne and wife, Dorothy, of Newark, Del.; one sister in law, Joyce Payne of Delaware; several nieces and nephews.

Flowers were appreciated, or memorials may be made to Sugar Tree Baptist Church c/o Judy Greer, P.O. Box 281, Warrensville, N.C. 28693.
