James Dale Miller

James "Jimmy" Dale Miller, 62, of 13373 U.S. Highway 221 South, Fleetwood, died Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 23, 2013, at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Lenoir.
James was born Feb. 19, 1950, in Watauga County, a son of the late Howard Stanley Miller and Ruth Greene Miller. He was a retired truck driver for Carroll Leather Goods, and a member of Emanuel Baptist Church.
James is survived by his fiancee, Kathleen "Kathy" Watson of Deep Gap; one son, Eric Miller and wife, Amy, of West Jefferson; one daughter, Bronda Cothren and husband, Brett, of Millers Creek; one granddaughter, Courtney Watson of Glendale Springs; three grandsons, Cole Miller of West Jefferson, Caden Cothren of Millers Creek, and Charley Miller of West Jefferson; and two brothers, Clyde Miller and wife, Pansy, of Deep Gap, and Kermit Miller and wife, Jane, of Fleetwood. He is also survived by a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for James "Jimmy" Dale Miller will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at Emanuel Baptist Church. The body will lie in state, at the church, from 12 to 2 p.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Paul Coffey. Burial will follow in the Miller Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon, from 12 to 2 p.m. at the church, prior to the service.
