James Lloyd McNeill

Mr. James Lloyd McNeill, 83, of West Jefferson, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mr. McNeill was born June 13, 1930, in Ashe County to Charlie and Minnie Faw McNeill.

Mr. McNeill was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Billy "Buzz" McNeill and sister, Wanda Little. Mr. McNeill worked many years at Ashe County Cheese and later ran a sawmill.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Nathan Caparolie and the Rev. Randall Greene. Burial will follow in Obids Country Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service.

Mr. McNeill is survived by his wife, Tencie McNeill of West Jefferson; two step-sons, Johnny McNeill of West Jefferson and Tommy McNeill of Ferguson; two step-daughters, Robin Dyer of Millers Creek and Carol Mathers of Pennsylvania; daughter in law, Kimberly Greene of Deep Gap; granddaughter, Kaelin Dawn McNeill; brother in law, Odell Little of Crumpler; two nieces, Alyson Church of Hickory and Melanie Johnson of Dillsboro also surviving are eight step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren.
