Janet Testerman Stuart

Mrs. Janet Testerman Stuart, 41, of Lansing, died on Thursday, April 4, 2013, in Lansing. Mrs. Stuart was born on Nov. 15, 1971, in Jefferson to Gwyn and Mary Juanita South Testerman.

Mrs. Stuart was preceded in death by her father. Mrs. Stuart was a member of Lansing Volunteer Fire Department. She worked as the bakery manager of West Jefferson Wal-Mart. Janet loved being a fire fighter and first responder, serving her community for over 22 years. She loved horses, fishing, having cookouts and traveling. Janet especially loved taking care of her son and her dogs. She was a loving wife, daughter, mother, sister and will be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Monday, April 8, 2013, at the Liberty Baptist Church by the Rev. Russell Sheets and the Rev. Tom Stuart. Burial will follow in Dixon-Testerman Cemetery with firefighter honors.

The family received friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, 2013, at Badger Funeral Home.

Mrs. Stuart is survived by her husband, Glen Stuart of Lansing; son, David Goss of Lansing; mother, Mary Juanita South Testerman of Lansing; brother, James Testerman of Creston; sister, Anita Absher of Lansing; twin sister, Mary Jane Cox of Creston; step son, Gregory Stuart of Wilkesboro; step daughter, Michelle Dancy of Moravian Falls; step daughter, Angela Osborne of Mount Pleasant also surviving are seven step-grandchildren; several step great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
