Mrs. Ruby Richardson Roten

Mrs. Ruby Richardson Roten, 94, of West Jefferson, died Saturday morning, January 21, 2012 at Segraves Care Center.
Funeral services were held on Monday, January 23, 2012 at 11 am at Boone Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Roten and the Rev. Fred Houck officiating. Burial followed in the Graybeal-Roten Cemetery.
The family received friends from 6 pm - 8 pm on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Boone Family Funeral Home.
Mrs. Roten was born in Ashe County on Sunday, January 20, 1918 to the late Jesse and Carrie Eller Richardson.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Reece Roten and two brothers; Wayne Richardson and Dean Richardson.
She is survived by one son, J.R. Roten and wife, Bracel, of West Jefferson; two daughters, Claudene Turnmire of West Jefferson, and Willadene 'Pat' Calhoun of West Jefferson; one brother, Breece Richardson and wife, Irene, of Jefferson; two sisters; Stella Mae Steele of Wilkesboro, and Thelma Jo Thompson of West Jefferson; six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
