Oscar Caudill

Mr. Oscar Caudill, 82, of Jefferson, died on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at the Blowing Rock Hospital in Blowing Rock. Mr. Caudill was born on Nov. 5, 1930. in Piney Creek to the late John Jackson Caudill and Beulah Church Caudill. Mr. Caudill was also preceded in death by his wife, Edna Blevins Caudill; one son, Roger Caudill; two daughters, Wanda Lewis and Carolyn Caudill; two sisters, Kay Laws and Virginia Hester; and one brother, Billy Joe Caudill. Mr. Caudill worked as a forklift operator for Thomasville Furniture.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at 2 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Brother Ralph Smith. Burial followed in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.
The family received friends from 1 pm to 2 pm on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.
Mr. Caudill is survived by a son, Michael Lee Caudill of Creston; daughter, Donna C. Severt of Jefferson; brother, Greek Caudill of Durham. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, three step-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
