Mr. Robert "Robbie" Lee Hartzog, 42, of Laurel Springs, NC died on Sunday, February 19, 2012, at his home. Mr. Hartzog was born on June 16, 1969 in Ashe County to Randall Leon and Elizabeth Barr Hartzog. Robbie was a graduate of Ashe Central High School.  He loved watching his kids play sports and it was said he was a kid at heart.  He was an avid car racing fan who loved Dale Earnhardt.  He loved riding his 4-wheeler and he never met a stranger.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2012, at the West Jefferson United Methodist Church by the Rev. Martha  Kincaid & Dr. Peter J. Taylor. Burial will follow in West Jefferson Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2012, at Hensley Hall at West Jefferson United Methodist Church.
Mr. Hartzog is survived by his wife, Rosemary Edwards Hartzog; two sons, Bobby Hartzog of West Jefferson & Holden Hartzog of Boone; one daughter, Hannah Hartzog of Boone; his mother, Elizabeth Hartzog, of Sparta; his father, Randall Leon Hartzog, of Knoxville, TN; one sister, Pam Andrews and husband, Robert, of Sparta; two nieces, Emily & Molly Andrews; his mother-in-law, Ola Belle Edwards of West Jefferson.
