Robert Chester Blevins

Mr. Robert Chester Blevins, 87, of Millers Creek, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, at The Villages of Wilkes in North Wilkesboro.

Mr. Blevins was born March 11, 1926, in Clinchfield, W.Va., to Stanley and Lucy Howell Blevins. Mr. Blevins was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rebecca Jane Blevins; brothers, Joe, Carl, Clarence, Neal Lee, and Curtis Blevins; and sisters, Maxine Kahill and Mazie Blevins. Mr. Blevins worked as a brick mason.

Graveside services will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at Ashelawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Dean Watson. The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at Badger Funeral Home.

Mr. Blevins is survived by two sons, Cecil Blevins and Alferd Blevins both of Millers Creek; one brother, Jack Blevins of Indiana; two sisters, Shirley Watson of Fleetwood, and Anna Jean Goodman of West Jefferson; one half-brother, Walter Hamby of Delaware; also surviving are four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
