Ronald Eugene Walker (Ronnie), 48, of Jefferson, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
Ronnie was born on Feb. 10, 1964, the son of Frank and Shirley Staley Walker. Ronnie enjoyed more than 20 years with special friends at Watauga Opportunities. He also enjoyed traveling with family and making new friends everywhere he went. Ronnie never met a stranger.
He is survived by his loving and devoted parents, Frank and Shirley Staley Walker; and Ronnie's extended family of loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at Bristol Baptist Church with services conducted by the Rev. Joe Blevins and the Rev. Benny Roten. Burial followed at Ashe Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Badgers Funeral Home.
Flowers were accepted or memorials may be made to Bristol Baptist Church Youth Fund, C/O Jennifer Walters, 2377 Nettle Knob Road, West Jefferson, NC 28694.
