Ward Marshall Miller

Mr. Ward Marshall Miller, 74, of West Jefferson, passed away Monday morning, Nov. 12, 2012, at Forsyth Medical Center.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m.Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at Calvary Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Sonny Thomas and the Rev. Russell Sheets officiating. Burial followed in the Calvary Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family received friends on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, from 6 to 8:p.m. at Calvary Freewill Baptist Church.
Mr. Miller was born in Ashe County on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 1938, to the late Joe and Cordie Bowlin Miller. He started making cabinets in 1968 and did all the wood work in his church, Calvary Freewill Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He enjoyed playing the guitar and singing in church.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Miller, Gilbert Miller and Sebert Miller.
Mr. Miller is survived by his wife, of 54 years of marriage, Dare Sheets Miller; two brothers, Delmar Miller of Glendale Springs, and Wade Miller of Millers Creek; three sisters, Faye Dixon of China Grove, Evazell Crews of Todd and Shirley Jones of Glendale Springs; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Flowers were accepted or memorials may be made to Calvary Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, C/O Pam Barker, PO Box 34, Glendale Springs, NC 28629.
